Client Handout: Why We Go The Extra Mile With FMS Screening

A lot of our readers really liked the article 10 Things Your Clients Should Know About Your Group Training Program.

This article was well received because it illustrated important things that we need our clients to know.  Educating clients on your training philosophies is huge. Handouts are just another great way to get them to absorb vital information that will lead to their success and higher retention.

If you are using the FMS to screen your clients, they typically have a lot of questions. Once again, this is a great time for a handout.  This is especially good if you are screening large groups, or have employees administering screens who may not be as good at explaining the philosophies as yourself.

Once again, feel free to copy, paste, modify, and use.  We want to make your group training easier by sharing what we have learned.  I hope this helps!!

WHY WE GO THE EXTA MILE WITH FMS SCREENING

Cutting Edge Training Philosophies

Movement training is groundbreaking, and something that most trainers are unfamiliar with, but is the foundation of training.  You have to learn to crawl before you learn to walk, and most trainers are having you run and jump without the ability to crawl.  It is imperative to build a solid functional base for your body to perform at your best.  You can’t build a mansion on a shack foundation.

Increase Efficiency to Increase Results

Your body is much less efficient with dysfunctional movement patterns and asymmetries in comparison to moving well. By using the screen, we can find your weakest link and improve it, this will help accelerate your results and break through plateaus because of increased efficiency.

If You’re Not Assessing You’re Guessing

Without a screen, how do you know what exercises are right and wrong for your particular body.  The truth is, if you’re not assessing you’re guessing. With a screen, we can narrow our plan of attack down to exactly what your body needs to achieve the best results in the shortest amount of time.

 Decrease Risk of Injury

You can’t get results if you are hurt.  The screen allows us to see what your chance of injury may be, and allows us to program the best workout possible to make sure that you stay injury free.

Know That Your Program is Working For You

Scoring criteria allows you and your trainers to see if your movement patterns are improving, or if the training program is having a positive or negative effect on your baseline movement.  This way you know what is happening with your training based on fact.  This a great tool to add to body composition measurements to see your results.
